Source has hosted a unique Good Friday service since 2003.
Unique, creative, experimental collaboration are all words
that is had lived up to. We have had 20-30 artist and performers
involved each year that have assisted the goal of presenting
to the observer and audience a glimpse of Christ and his
embracing the cross a different look than they have experienced
before whether someone was raised in the church or have
little connection.
Stations of the Cross are a church tradition that goes
back 100's of years. Many cathedrals and traditional churches
have dedicated stain glass and installations to the 14 traditional
stations that are a snapshot of moments beginning with Christ
being condemned in the Garden until his body was laid in
the tomb less than 24 hours later.
Dis-grace: embraces the irony of the Christ, which is the
conduit of God's grace unto mankind, had to suffer the ultimate
suffering and disgrace on a crucifixion.
Good Friday service.
Stations: We have expanded the traditional stations to include
some glimpse of the Last Supper (which was a Seder - Passover
meal), which was held on the same night just before he was
condemned. We start with looking at Abraham, and the first
Passover to give the Last supper and Christ actions context.
General Format: is having a visual (which are displayed
in our gallery) and a performance vignette connected with
our Stations of the cross (we have modified them inspired
by the traditional stations of the cross). Individuals can
provide both (the performance and visual) or just one. Videos
with sound are typically considered both the performance
vignette and the visual.
