New art by Jen Theisen and Jamie Winter Dawson- Feb 4.

Jamie Winter is an emerging artist whose oil paintings and pastel/charcoal drawings demonstrate a unique merging of science and art. With an educational background in premed and the visual arts, her work is a study of the synergistic inner workings and visible beauty of life.

Jamie works from her studio in Minneapolis and gives private art lessons, teaches at various art schools, and takes commissions.
Jen Theisen, mixed media artist, says about her work, "My work is primarily figurative, but not necessarily portraiture. I use the figure to provoke the viewer and narrate a story. The physical process of creating is an integral part of my work…painting, sanding, nailing, sewing, assembling, collecting, writing…They are all pieces of the solution."

Jen lives with her family in Crystal, MN. She graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in painting from Bemidji State University. Jen is active in exhibiting her work locally and nationally. Her work has been described as 'psychological narrative', and is usually created in the wee hours in her 'packrat's studio' in her home. She works in a variety of mediums, including acrylic paint, dress patterns, found objects, and whatever else she finds.
