Sally
Graceland
Before Sally left for India in February of 2002, Standbye performed
their last show in January of that year. The only problem is that Standbye
has played a number of "last shows" and rumor has it that this could
actually be another one of those. But no guarentees on this one, if
all else fails and the rest of the band has left for Des Moines or Mozambique,
you can at least count on a little guitar rockin' solo style....or with
some special guests....it will be a suprise for all of us.

Madison
Greene
Since their birth in 1997, Madison Greene has evolved into an aggressive
acoustic collective with Celtic and tribal influences. Madison Greene
desires to use traditional and ethnic acoustic instruments in new and
creative ways. The band members have all traveled overseas and have
learned the value of being both honest and culturally relevant in the
expression of their faith, their struggles, their visions and outcries.
They are passionate about communicating with their audience the messages
and issues which have impacted their lives, while at the same time breaking
down the audience/performer barrier to create a feeling of community
that goes beyond entertainment.

Matt
Patrick
Matt Patrick has been an incredibly busy musician in the Twin Cities
for many years. He has an extensive list of bands he's played and recorded
with including the well known Minneapolis-based folk favorite pegtop.
As a songwriter himself, Matt decided to record his first solo CD titled
"Change," which showcases the rootsy style of music that he writes.
His lyrics are clever, honest and seem to come straight from the depths
of his soul. Musically, Matt has been a multi-instrumentalist since
he was a child starting with piano. He picked up the guitar in 5th grade,
which led him to bass guitar, mandolin, pedal steel, Hammond organ,
accordion and pretty much whatever instrument is set in front of him.
This skill, joined together with his knack for songwriting, is a beautiful
combination.

4TL
4TL (For the Lord) brings together a group of dynamic musicians whose
experiences and accomplishments in music and technology create a musical
ensemble that draws from R&B, hip-hop, straight ahead jazz, and fusion,
to the down home essence of traditional and contemporary Gospel music.
Kirk Johnson, Keith McCutchen, and Troy Williams were first brought
together in the studio for a Gospel project for saxophonist Williams.
Later the three began playing together at Park Avenue United Methodist
Church in Minneapolis where they have evolved a sound that retains the
core soul of Gospel, with a very present infusion of pure jazz. Along
with bassist Jay Young, the group captures an authentic, anointed feel.

The
Love Association
Love Association is a rock band based out of Minneapolis/Saint Paul,
Minnesota. While paying homage to 80s acts like Depeche Mode, Duran
Duran, and the Cure, they infuse more recent influences like Nine Inch
Nails and the Smashing Pumpkins. This effort is accomplished by incorporating
new technology and pop sensibilities that define a sound for a new era.
Song subjects range from love and relationships to god, redemption,
and fashion - all consistent with continuity that gives this group a
tangible image and sound. While the band labels themselves as 'fashion
rock,' this is pure and simple, great song writing. The look and the
attitude is all there, but most importantly Love Association displays
and inventive and dynamic sound that brings new life to mainstream music.

Figureheads:
Figureheads is a three-personed act hailing from three cities in the
Midwest: Minneapolis, Milwaukee and Madison. We are two emcees- jer1
and pegleggreg- and one dj: dave olson. Of an experimental bent we are.
The mc's are on some witty word wielding I'll call "lit-hop" (expressly
literary hip-hop), and Dave Olson is obsessed with creating inexhaustible
rhythms on his ibook--at times layered to the limit, at others minimal
and manipulative, but always remarkable. The music gives voice to many
things, chief among them being hope, and a love for what we do imbues
every bar. Press Play.

Kyle
Flanner:
Music picked me
at the age of seven in a small town in Kansas. I have been thrown and
tossed against its shores many times. I played all through my days of
over the top drug abuse and carried it as a limb of the person I was
and am today. One thing that is true about my music is that it is in
the open, able to be seen and shining as an expose' of my internal wearing.
I started doing party drugs at fourteen and took no time to jump off
the cliff into the deep ones that don't let you come up for air as often.
I left home three times, the last time I was gone for nearly six months.
Having been raised in an incredible home with loving parents, I had
no child-hood trauma to blame these events on, it was simply that I
loved the rush and hated the emptiness that is the bane of all humanity.
I felt as though mine was much larger and without a bottom. I wanted
a substitute and I wanted to find it on my own, but I found nothing
of the sort. I told God that if He were real He had to show me His love.
Needless to say He did and is still. I have been playing music with
a lot more pull behind it, now that it comes from a deeper place…
